Monitoring Rain Levels
Just how wet is the farm..?
The North York Moors is the driest of all of the national parks in the UK with 25 to 30 inches of rain every year. This year I began a weekly record of rainfall to discover how much water the farm receives. This information has value when comparing grazing systems around the globe and, obviously, how dry a period is. April 2020 was especially dry and this spring looks drier still.
